Village bicycle tour

Another fascinating encounter that the visitor can opt for is the bicycle tour. This organized tour takes in the surrounding countryside and gives the opportunity to see and hear the everyday sights and sounds of rural Sri Lanka. Cinnamon cultivation, Lagoon fishing, coir rope making; the colourful local fishing harbour, temples and bird spotting are all part of this enjoyable and informative experience. An unforgettable picnic lunch under a tree in the middle of nowhere adds to the fun as does the refreshing boat ride back to the hotel.

Whales & Dolphin watching

A close encounter of a special kind is the Whale watching & Dolphin watching trip to Mirissa – Just 40 minutes from “Aditya”. A boat ride of 90 minutes takes you out to the sea where Whales dip and dive in stately beauty and Dolphins flip and floric in unfettered abandon. An “Aditya” picnic lunch comes as part of the package.

Sri Lankan Cookery Demonstration & Fish Market Tour.

The Sri Lankan cookery demonstration begins with a morning tour to the local market with one of the senior staff from the ‘Aditya Kitchen’. Only the freshest fish and vegetables are selected and cooking back at the hotel focuses mainly on the preparation of a typical meal with popular Sri Lankan dishes.
The Chef, has created a comprehensive programme to introduce to the participants the art of exotic Sri Lankan cookery.
Demonstrated to the participants is the art of preparing a typical Sri Lankan Lunch menu consisting of Fish, Prawn, Lentil, 02 vegetable curries, Sambol & Rice.

  • Guided tour to fish market to select good quality fish.
  • Familiarization session of ingredients, spices, condiments & other materials used in cooking.
  • Preparation of Fish curry and Prawn curry.
  • Preparation of Rice, Lentil Curry, 02 Vegetable Curries and Sambol.
  • Serve to the table to enjoy a Typical Sri Lankan Lunch.
